Jasieniec trwały wyrasta do 40 cm wysokości. Tworzy rozłogi zakończone rozetami lancetowatych, owłosionych liści. Miododajne kwiaty zebrane w zbite główki średnicy do 3 cm są koloru niebiesko-fioletowego i pojawiają się w czerwcu. Kwitnienie rozciąga się do miesiąca sierpnia.
